They had hot dogs and food trucks available for a quick bite, but we wanted something a tad more substantial with a sit down vibe. There wasn’t much available in the area, as we wanted to keep our travel time to a minimum. All these factors led us to “Gojo” for some traditional Ethiopian cuisine. I am admittedly not too familiar with Ethiopian food, so took a step back, allowing my guests to order, and tell me what is what. This review is written in that perspective.
I have to say this is a hidden gem! We've never been disappointed and the kids love the food. We've dined in the restaurant and enjoyed food at home. Consistent taste and portions.
This place is excellent the owner is always very friendly and remembers everything about us and our order. Quality food and great service! Highly recommended for take out or eat in.
Very tasty food! I had the vegetarian combo. Nice atmosphere and I would say healthy tasty food. Just a 3 min walk from the commercial/broadway skytrain station
Friendly service, delicious food. We were trying to go out with a toddler in tow, so we originally planned to try Bandidas (which has a reputation as toddler and baby friendly). Unfortunately it was absolutely packed, with people waiting. Fortunately, that made us look for a place nearby, and we tried Gojo. They were super friendly to our two-year-old and got her a high chair and plastic cup right away. The complimentary lime water was so delicious and refreshing in the heat. We ordered kitfo, doro tibs awaze and the veggie special combo. It was all excellent and very filling (served three adults and one toddler, and still had leftovers enough for lunch for two adults and a toddler). Very reasonably priced as well.
