We usually have pizza on Sunday nights. WE selected this place based on the Trip Advisor reviews. We have to agree with some of the reviews in some respects. The place was busy, but we were seated by a friendly waitress and our drink order...More

We were lucky enough to grab the last table at Pizzeria Prima Strada on a Thursday evening. The place is always packed thanks to the great food and the fun atmosphere. The restaurant offers more than a dozen varieties of its thin-crust, Neapolitan wood-fired pizzas; we chose the Margarita and were very happy with it (one pizza plus two house salads made the perfect dinner). The homemade gelato is very popular -- although we passed on dessert, plenty of other diners seemed to be loving it.You might want to get there early (before 6 pm) to avoid waiting for a table -- although the wait is worth it.

What stands out at Pizzaria Prima Strada is the overall experience. In a world that racing against the clock, this eatery gently slows you down, breaking you away from the hustle of your day-to-day.As a tourist, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this local pizzaria which features a small selection of local beers and an eclectic menu. The beer I had (Driftwood) was perfect for my taste, which I realize is a hit or miss with the selection of three beers I had to choose from. The pizza had a homemade feel, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It didn't taste like arub if the milk, assembly line pizza. While it wasn't perfect, or the best pizza I've had, it tasted nostalgic - even though I'm not Italian.I consider the menu eclectic because, while it features some standard napolitain pizzas, it also features some curiously unique mixes. The chili oil at the table is delicious and doesn't overpower the inherent flavour of the pizza, complimenting it instead. Lastly, as service seems to be a point of mixed reviews: this is definitely not a place that dotes on you. I, personally, love that. The staff are friendly and good at reading customer cues, but do not check in frequently. In the hour and a half I spent at the restaurant, I didn't notice a single person on my side of the restaurant need to flag down the staff. And yet, they checked on me only twice, as I didn't want to be constantly attended to.My recommendation? Try it out, it definitely worth consideration at the very least. Except to have a slow meal and indulge in the food. Pair it with a beverage. Pizzaria Prima Strata offers you a piece of European lifestyle. Take the time to enjoy that, even if you find the food doesn't live up to your foodie expectations.

We came here for dinner the day we fly in from Ontario. The service was incredibly slow on all accounts, slow to seat us, slow to provide menus, and we had to wait quite a while for our food after we ordered. When the food eventually arrived it was decent pizza that we quite enjoyed. However the service let us down again as we were not provided with the standard condiments all the other tables were.It took so long we simply asked for the bill once our food arrived so we could get on with our evening. On the positive side I liked that they handed our blankets to customers who were feeling cold on the patio. I wonder if they would consider adding propane space heater in the future.

We (3) stopped in without a reservation on a Friday night around 7 pm. It was busy but they were able to find us a seat fairly quickly.Service was good. Yes, one pizza per person is required but it is fresh, crispy and delicious. My husband had the calzone, I had the funghi supremo (4 mushroom pizza) and my son had a plain cheese pizza. A few local beers were available to my husband's delight. A little pricey ($100 for 3, only one person drinking beer) but tasty.
