Very friendly place with great vibe. I enjoyed browsing the shelves with a chilled glass of albarino. Found a new book by an old author and another book completely new to me that I'll try.
What a perfect little bookshop. Their selection of books is fabulous and food is delicious. What a wonderful atmosphere to escape the hustle bustle of Northern Virginia!
I've missed picking up a book and flipping through the pages to see if I'm going to like it. And when I go into the big chain stores I am so overwhelmed, not to mention the people who work in the big chain stores can't tell me a thing about the book! Yesterday I visited Bard's Alley, where I was greeted with a warm, cozy environment and friendly staff. When I explained I was going to the beach for a week and liked non-fiction, but wanted a good story, the owner talked me through a few books before I decided on one. That she was able to help me narrow down on a choice speaks volumes to the level of service only a neighborhood store can give you. I loved this place and can't wait to go back for another glass of wine and a good book.
Lovely little Indie bookstore. I had a friendly chat and just looked around at my first visit, then went back when I needed a copy of The Nightingale . I didn 't expect them to have that particular book and was going to order it but there it was right on the shelf. Very impressive for a limited space and book selection. Now I am very happy that I got a gift certificate for Hanukkah; can 't wait to go back! Oh, and the wine and hummus were good, too!
