The waiter took a long time to take our order after we were seated. We ordered the $45 sangria pitcher, which was worth the price. We also ordered the margarita pizza to share, but were surprised to find that it was very small - the size of my hand. Despite the high price of $18, we were disappointed by the portion size. It took over an hour and a half for the waiters to bring us the bill, even after we asked multiple times. Our waiter was rude, and when we asked for the bill, she claimed that another waiter was supposed to bring it. After speaking to another waitress, our bill still didn't arrive until we asked for it multiple times. Our plates and cups were dirty, and we had to ask for replacements. The bathroom was not well-maintained, with no toilet paper and dirty toilets.
Our team decided to have a lunch and drinks at Cachet in a warm summer day. A larger group, I was surprised that we were relegated to two worn picnic benches, which I have never encountered before. There were umbrellas which were nice, however some were left without any shade. Suffice it to say, there was quite a crowd and a great vibe. The service was good, however one of my colleagues was somehow overlooked for her veggie wrap She later told me that it wasnt that great. As she is a vegan, I'll take her word for it. I had a pastrami sandwich which came in a phyllo which was a bit steep at $17.00. It was a pastrami sandwhich with fries on the side. It was good, but I noticed that the food is a bit overpriced. Overall, I concur this may be more of a suitable spot for drinks and appies, with a bit of a more pedestrian flair to the food. A solid 3 in my opinion. -Zuk
Cachet, located in Downtown Newmarket, boasts one of the loveliest patios in the area with a view of the River. It's a great choice for drinks or a full dinner. While the menu may seem basic, the kitchen adds a personal touch to the dishes, making them original. The Coconut Shrimp is a standout, featuring crispy coconut-coated shrimp with homemade green onion aioli and JD BBQ sauce. The Mushroom Ravioli is also a standout, with fire roasted mushrooms encased in fresh ravioli shells, topped with a creamy garlic white wine sauce, and garnished with goat cheese and spinach. However, the Sherry Braised Short Beef Ribs were a disappointment as they were dry and chewy. The wait staff is friendly, providing prompt service even on a busy Sunday evening.
I can confidently say this was the absolute worst restaurant I 've been to in Newmarket : I had high expectations because it was hyped when it first opened! Disclaimer I get that they haven 't worked in months, but as a restaurant, you should pride yourself on the food you serve and know when it 's not ready to go out to a customer. If your dishes are $20, I should not get a better meal from my michelina 's microwaveable meals at home. I 'd like to say our server was very kind and apologized in advanced for anything because it was her second day there. The sangria was also very good, and not watered down. Now the bad... our food took exactly an hour to come out and it was way less than mediocre. The descriptions did not match the presentation or taste at all. Deb 's burger was hard as a rock and in the 4 years I 've been dating my bf, this is the first time I 've seen him not finish a meal and he is the least picky person I know! He only had a few bites. Also the burger was advertised with all the signature classic toppings but it came with a slice of tomato, a few slivers of raw red onion and a couple of leaves or arugula. Uhhh, lettuce??? Cheese??? Sauce??? Pickles??? He had to use the little condiment packets of ketchup and mustard to season his burger. The chicken club was cold in the middle and my friend also did not finish it. The sauce was off and the bread was hard. My dish, the butter chicken was alright not great not bad at all. I finished it because I was starving by the time we got our food 2:20pm without any food the whole day you would too! . It says a lot when the butter chicken dish at a pub is the best dish that came out.... Overall we were very disappointed and my bill was near $50 after tip. There are way better choices a few steps away down the street I don 't recommend eating here. Maybe only drinks!
Finally! Out for a patio. I was impressed with a big gallon of sanitizer when you enter the patio area. 6ft distance apart is observed. They have done a great job during this difficult times. Menu is printed on the table. They served the food in a trolley and you will take it from the trolley. Great food and delicious. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices and lots of parking.
