Lunch seems to cater for local business people, and we were the only tourists in there. Something I didn't mind at all! The main menu is in Italian English, but the lunch special is just in Italian staff are helpful with my basic Italian. For 6 euro, you get a glass of wine, bottled water a choice of either a pasta, salad or small main dish. Each meal we had was delicious. The 2 pastas I had there were al dente, delicious the best I had in 2 weeks travelling through Sicily! The fried calamari was crunchy not oily at all. We ordered mussels separately from the lunch deal these too were so tasty. The decor is light, clean modern felt more like a pricey restaurant. Not a dark, old style trattoria that the name implies. It in a back street, 2mins from Teatro Politeama 5mins from Teatro Massimo. Certainly worth a visit, especially at lunch when the prices cant be beaten.

We ordered 3 pizzas and some water, we waited for about 45 minutes and only two pizzas came out as the chef forgot about one . The pizzas were frozen and quite horrible, they were also covered in rocket as if it was to hide it. The cultery was disgusting and the trip to the loo made me almost gag. We asked for the bill about 3 times and when we finally got it we saw that we were charged 6 euros for service but there was also a mistake on the final number. We had to pay in cash but the waiter complained when we didn 't have the exact money. We left feeling a bit nauseous, both about the food and the service. avoid at all cost, you 're better of in an other very touristic restaurant up the road.
