They were out of several dishes and 2...out of 3 of the white wines were sold out so we took the third which was very sweet. The food eventually came. My parents both had the poached haddock which was nice. I had the baked lobster which was severley over cooked and there was very little of it. My husband had the Finnan Haddie which didn't seem to have any fish in it at all!! Although the menu says all meals come with potatoes and vegetables, none of our dishes came with potatoes despite asking for them twice. The lobster did not come with the corn bread as stated. The vegetables were barely cooked. My single brussel sprout was like biting a rock. The server was very apologetic and phoned the manager to obtain permission to discount our food. We got a whopping $2/meal off. It was an appalling meal and we went home hungry despite paying over $150. If you can, either self cater or eat at the Lighthouse Cafe.

Nous avons apprécié les cannellonis de saumon en entrée, la truite fraîche et le steak et... de délicieux desserts ! Je reviendrai la prochaine fois que nous serons dans la région !

We stayed at the Brier Island Lodge for two nights, with the middle day, Thursday, devoted to watching the remnants of Ida wreak havoc on Brier Island. A power... Lire plus We stayed at the Brier Island Lodge for two nights, with the middle day, Thursday, devoted to watching the remnants of Ida wreak havoc on Brier Island. A power outage that lasted most of the afternoon meant that a smaller menu was offered Thursday evening,...but everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. In fact, every single meal we had there (two breakfasts and two dinners) was wonderful. That is quite impressive when you consider that Brier Island is fairly remote, with everything shipped via Highway through Digby Neck and Long Island, plus two ferries serving Long Island and Brier Island. Yet we find nothing lacking in this fine dining experience. If any of the wonderful employees who served us at the Brier Island Restaurant had emergencies at home due to flooded basements or washed-out driveways (which were numerous throughout Westport), they never showed it. They treated us and all their guests with the utmost courtesy, kindness and professionalism. We were quite spoiled with delicious meals. What more could we ask for? We are so grateful to everyone who made our stay a lovely one, despite everything that Ida threw at them.
