Not many tables occupied when we arrived but we got the impression very soon that the owner was under pressure to hold the 5 or so already occupied happy. Only one table was eating the rest either waiting for food already ordered or trying to settle their bill. Before we ordered I asked if things would be slow only to be told he had 45 yrs experience and was on top of things ... when I suggested the problem might be in the kitchen I was immediately rebuffed with the fact that it was his wife who ran the kitchen. Anyway, he was a very affable host and deserves credit for the way he handled the situation down to playing with the 2 yr old child on one of the tables. He even went to the trouble of getting some help in at short notice he told me it was his son ... fair play. Anyway, on his advice that theirs was as good as the finest paella to be had in the region, we ordered the mixed version for 2. Well, it wasnt the worst we had ever eaten but Im sure there is also better to be had. Neither was it very cheap so all in all 6/10 for the food and 10/10 for the efforts of the 'front of house ' owner who did everything he could to keep a lid on a difficult situation.

We had no idea what to expect and we weren’t disappointed! You can’t book, and it is busy, so you turn up at the door and get your name added to a short waiting list. Go early or late if you want to eat straight away; go middle evening 20.30 22.00) and you’ll have to wait. We were given an hour. How do you order? It’s a buffet system. You’re shown your table, a nice server takes your drinks order and explains how it works. Grab a rectangular plate, and make you way to the counter to pick with your eyes NO TOUCHING THE FOOD! Point and ask their English is good. A very interesting selection of morsels with ‘cocktail’ sticks spears through each portion, indicating its price. We went mad and my boys enjoyed it; it reminded them of school but was much more colourful and dynamic! Once you’ve sat back down with your selections you munch away and put your discarded sticks in a small bowl which constitutes your bill. But it doesn’t stop there! Every few minutes a member of staff will wander the floor offering special items, hot out of the busy kitchen, for you to try. Fish, meat, cheeses, veggie and vegan. Interesting combinations well described by the person serving. We spent €92 between the 3 of us and were stuffed a clever business plan! Would we go back? Yes, we would. Novelty aside, the food was pretty damn good. Nothing to complex or challenging, just tasty, well cooked food.

We loved the food and the service was very fast. We had mixed bread and beef carpaccio for starters and they were both delicious, the carpaccio especially large... The pastas were large and tasty. It’s a nice ambience as well.
