A package weekend with friends in a large group Friday to Sunday including evening menus. I would have liked to give five , but there is a problem with the architecture more on that in a moment. Location in the wine town of Kallstadt is good, parking off the main road at the back is helpful. In summer, either the trees or their nocturnal inhabitants drip watch out! The house itself is very well maintained and it is obvious that no expense is spared when it comes to entertainment. Given the circumstances, you shouldn 't expect a lively hotel many of the rooms face the inner courtyard and would be unusable if there were permanent celebrations . So it ends early outside. However, this does not bother the vast majority of guests, which is why the hotel bar, which is actually beautiful, is not taken into account in the personnel planning. Here, too, there is an early end due to house rest. You should definitely not expect a party location! The rooms are really very quiet. Unfortunately also very warm, only suites have air conditioning. You have to want the bathroom design. Not me. A glass cube in the room I have never understood the sense of such planning. At night someone has to go to the toilet boom, the room is bright. Glass doors are not soundproof great. And no one wants to watch their partner do all the hygiene tasks but they can hardly avoid it. This is annoying and urgently needs to be changed. It is also questionable why the television uses a glaringly bright blue LED light to indicate that it is connected to the mains but is off . I had forgotten my black leukoplast tape, which I always need. The atmosphere in the guest rooms is rustic and cozy without any discomfort. The cuisine was at its best, both menus were delicately seasoned, well cooked and generously portioned. Particularly worth mentioning is the wine list, which is almost exclusively based on the Palatinate. Rank and name are represented at very reasonable prices, the very top shelf of the expensive luxury brands are not used, but there are first class second tier winegrowers with fine wines. Breakfast is very varied and all offerings are of good quality. It doesn 't matter whether it 's black pudding or liver sausage, home made yoghurt, fresh egg dishes, (properly made) Bircher muesli (without yoghurt! It 's a plague like vinegar on Insalata Caprese), delicious jams, a selection of fruit, freshly cleaned peppers and cucumbers there was something missing for 99 of guests nothing. It will also be refilled as soon as possible. The last point to be praised is “the staff”. You have to keep five couples of upper middle aged guests under control in order for things to work. Running! Completely Palatinate direct, yet friendly, that was a special point that speaks for the hotel/restaurant. Of course: if you have different expectations (and are not supported by the house) when it comes to kitchen times or cannot or do not want to get involved with the more jovial way of the employees you may also be less satisfied. Then perhaps “the Palatinate” per se is not the right environment?
