If I could give it 10 stars I would! The staff are exceptional friendly, knowledgeable, attentive just the right amount. This is most definitely an experience that I will remember and talk about for years to come.

My pizza with 4 ingredients only had three on the plate no anchovies. I alert the waiter who says “no problem I’ll go and get it sorted”….goes and asks if the Roma has anchovies on it… A minute later brings back the same pizza with slimy anchovies straight out of the jar. Me “I’d really prefer if these were cooked” Him “ this is how it comes” which is interesting given he didn’t know it had anchovies in the first place. Ideally I’d have The anchovies were repulsive and sat limp on the plate as I tried to eat the rest… it was a hot mess All up I paid over 60 dollars for a kids cheeseburger and a wet and slimy pizza with cold slimy anchovies and to be honest the insult was that the waiter didn’t give a rats he was chirpy enough but couldn’t care less. That’s fine by me not my business to keep the place alive but I shan’t be back and given the sparse numbers of diners at the place I’m surprised he didn’t read the situation and simply sort it out. That’s ok won’t be back …

Turns out we both could have eaten lunch off that but I had a club sandwich and fries (large meal). Beer was good. We sat outside and enjoyed the ambience.

Me and my partner went tonight, I ordered a crab meat and prawn pasta with rose sauce. I got uncooked pasta, tomato mushed up on top, no crab meat and 3 prawns.... I also ordered a drink, paid for it and it never came out. I got a refund straight away for the drink and meal, atleast they quickly refunded me, probably happens all the time with the abysmal quality of food. NOW THIS, is where it gets bad. My parter is a coeliac. This means she can’t eat gluten. I told the guy who took my order, he was great and I saw him tell the kitchen. However, it’s now 2am and my partner is throwing up, in agony with cramps and will be sick for the next month with headaches, cramps and fatigue because they failed to meet her dietary requirements and gave her gluten contaminated food. We know it was them as she ate nothing else today that wasn’t home cooked and we have a completely gluten-free household. She didn’t even like her pasta, she ate maybe 1/4 of it. Luckily it was so terrible she couldn’t eat all the gluten. Customer service was decent apart from cooks staring at me as I complained about there $30 uncooked pasta with a smashed tomato on top with 3 whole prawns. Terrible. Don’t waste your time, go to Portobello instead..or just eat your own hand, it will be equally enjoyable and not $30.

My visit to Carlisle Tavern was disappointing. The staff was unstoppable and pokies seemed to dominate the hotel. Maybe I was there at a bad time.
