13.09.2023 - 04:30If you like Catalan cuisine served in a family environment that's definitely your place. You cannot find sophisticated dishes but sure serious, healthy ones. It's worthwhile from a quick visit from Barcelona so it is quite a short ride

17.08.2023 - 05:35Quelle honte.

04.08.2023 - 08:18We always like to try an Indian Restaurant when visiting new cities across Europe. We picked Le Gang'ge as it was one of a few Indian restaurants actually open in Lille on a Sunday. The interior of Le Gan'ge is very easy on the eye, dark grey walls mixed in with a red wall at the far end made us feel very relaxed. The waiter spoke good English and took our order quickly. The starters were a hit , we shared a plate of Pakora Oignons, better known in the UK as Onion Bhajis! They were cooked to perfection and had a very good flavour. Our second starter was a delightful Lamb Shish Kebab, the meat was excellent and was made even tastier with the various added herbs and spices. Sadly the main courses were a bit of let down. My girlfriend ordered the chicken tikka massala and pulled a very long face after her first mouthful of food. The sauce was very peculiar. I had a taste myself, it was very smoky, and not at all how a massala sauce should taste. Also the meat used in the chicken tikka massala was chicken thigh meat and unfortunately not very good quality, where as my chicken madras was cooked with chicken breast meat and tasted a lot nicer. Although it could have been mad a bit spicier. So overall slightly disappointing , couldn't fault the setting and the staff or the starters, but the main courses were a big let down. Also the bill was very expensive for what we had.
