Four of us ate here twice during our week on the Island. Food, drink staff were terrific. Fish was enjoyed by all as was the superb mussels burger. We love the ' new ' dining room, not there the last time we visited. The pantry is well worth a visit.
Best cup of tea got 10 days on islands, best scone I’ve had for years fresh and not dry, and lovely avocado and almond cake. A fitting end to great day on the island before boat to ship.
My husband I have had several lunches dinners here. There is outdoor seating for warm, sunny days a lovely restaurant with huge windows looking towards the sea. The food is great. We’ve tried the soups, baked potatoes, sandwiches baking at lunch. At dinner we’ve had the fish chips, sea bream, trout, scallops, the burger, the chicken dish the vegetarian pasta. Every meal has been excellent- and the local honey ice cream is homemade a real treat. The staff are all locals the owner Gavin is lovely. The homemade empire biscuits are the best I’ve ever had! This seems to be the heart of the island, it’s where you find good food at decent prices the locals seems to hang out there too. It’s brilliant to support a local family business when travelling to an island. Would 100% recommend.
Went along to Seafood night on Wednesday and was not disappointed. Enjoyed scallops, followed by seafood linguine then finished with the Colonsay honey ice cream. The whole meal was delicious and staff were so friendly. Great choice of wines and I even purchased a tea towel as a gift when paying. I leave today but going to pop in for a late lunch before I head home on the ferry. Next time I’ll definitely bring the husband
