The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. We were offered a wine tasting (no charge by the lovely 'Verona ' who welcomed us as soon as we walked into this beautifully transformed 1920 's General Store which is now a relaxing, warm and cosy restaurant/cafe/cellar door and Traders Store. The building is gorgeous and so is the garden. We were offered a wine tasting before we could order as the kitchen opens at midday for lunch. Breakfast was still being served and I would recommend making a booking on weekends. Verona gave my mum and l such a great insight as to how some wine styles are made which enhanced our wine knowledge and our overall experience. My 4yo daughter enjoyed a cookie while we tasted some wines (which wasn 't what we expected, just lunch really! and then we enjoyed our light lunch in the restaurant from midday. We all enjoyed our lunch including my daughter who loved her penne pasta with Napoli sauce which was a large child 's meal and so delicious, l would have been very happy to have ordered it for myself. Lynka served us and was most helpful and friendly. We were able to walk outside and look through The Traders Store while we waited for our food to arrive. Lynka then found us in the store when our lunch was serviced at the table. This kept my 4yo old happy as she doesn 't want to sit at tables very long for her meal to arrive. Im not sure if this would be possible on a busy weekend but it wasn 't a problem on a Monday. The food, wine and coffee was all delicious and we just had to purchase a couple of bottles to take home! There are some wonderful pieces from homemade jams to tea-towels to purchase in the Cafe section and the Trades Store has some fabulous quality pieces of garments I 'd love to buy them all, including a baby range. There 's something for everyone here. We also loved the autumn colours of the vines at the front of the building (we took plenty of photos with the vines, the building and us included as well as the wooden wheelbarrow full of pumpkins! The vines are also out the back covering the deck with 2 large tables, which would be perfect to sit out on with a glass of wine and your lunch or breakfast on a sunny day. We 'll be back very soon! Thank you for a fabulous wine tasting and lunch on Monday I can 't wait to take more family and friends to your special place in the future.
We just love this place, casual dining at its best. Amazing wines by Elgee Park and Baillieus arguably the peninsulas best whites (cellar door and sales), open fire places to spend the day by, charcuterie platters to die for... just yum!!!!
Gorgeous interior , fun exterior, delicious food with an extensive menu. The friendly staff , wonderful service and cute homewares made this place a very worthwhile visit . Lovely scented bath and wash gels and moisturisers. Place was buzzing with happy people . We must have grabbed the last 2 stools, booking is essential over the week end . Gill
What a wonderful place with exceptional service!!! We visited many times and always had best service and yummiest food and are very child friendly with my toddler.
Beautiful, relaxed cafe with the warmth of wood inside, overlooking vine covered verandahs. Food is fresh and skillfully prepared and the service froendly, welcoming and attentive. Family breakfast was delicious fresh croissants and baguettes with butter and jam, eggs Benedict and scrmabled eggs with wonderful coffee. Lunch also wonderful as was afternoon wine, cheese platter and cakes. Always a favourite when we are in the area.
