Still a real pub with great ales and pub grub, so pleased it has reopened and still kept its traditional style

More ales and ciders than you can ever wish for, good music, good atmosphere, good food and even great weather.

Just a beer . but very pleasant situated in an Essex forest and judging by the real estate you can go for a good days march to find a food bank . john

The dishes were scampi and chips with salad, which was very appetising. The other dish was a cheese selection Ploughman’s which was excellent. Very much recommended.

We took our dogs and children out for a walk in the nearby forest (which is beautiful in itself) and popped into the pub for a drink and lunch afterwards to warm up!
