Eating was quite good and the service friendly and efficient. the one challenge is the lighting. by using soft light overhead, it is difficult to imagine a romantic dinner for two (or four). these rather cool ceiling floodlights give the room an underground feeling, cellar, instead of a secret romantic culinary experience ambiente. a simple solution is to apply a real, three-wind candle on each table. that would bring a lighting where people are. also, who doesn't look good at candlelight just a suggestion to improve an otherwise lovely experience.
Once again chef has not disappointed, an excellent meal! we just returned for the season after palm springs and daniels was our first choice for one night. both the dinner and the service were great, they always treat us as family. we will do it!
We had never eaten here before but we were celebrating our friends 45 wedding anniversary , so decided to try it out. The place is small and intimate, white table cloths and flowers on the tables. We started with the dates, which were delicious. Then had a Cesar salad which was also lovely. I had the gluten free crab cakes, my husband had the cod, our guests had the pheasant and the salmon. Everything was delicious ! The service was very good but not great. We had to ask for more water, a wine list a few times and more silverware . I would recommend Daniels for people that don’t mind spending a bit more for a truely unique dining experience.
Was visiting from baltimore and denver. chef daniel could not have been more inviting and engaging and the food more delicious. a real find!
