We've seen this place VERY busy, but on our visit, we were the only one's there for dinner. Our waitress was...very friendly, and our food came quickly. The food was okay. We had the Cajun chicken and the beef liver. The chicken was good, but we didn't get a hint of any hot spice. The macaroni and cheese that came with it was fine. The beef liver was fine, also the mashed potatoes. The big disappointment were the veggies. Pretty enough, but veggies cooked from frozen are not our favourite to start, but there wasn't a lick of spice or sauce. Edging things away from average also were the worn water glasses that have seen better days. The worst part was that they share washrooms with the attached gas station. The washrooms were bad. There are so few food options along the Trans Canada between Calgary and Canmore, we can see they don't have to put any effort into this place, but it's sad they don't try to keep things up. A tip: they seem to offer tomato and cucumber slices, so would be better than their previously frozen veg.
On our way back west, we decided to have lunch at this Humpty's location. It had been a while since we had been to a Humpty's and I have to say, it was just okay. The servers were friendly and the food was satisfying, but nothing truly stood out. We probably won't be stopping here again.
When I was young, someone told me family restaurant meant they serve alcohol, that is the father can drink there while the kids act up. This Humpty's is labeled a family restaurant but has no booze, so my year belief was proven wrong. The...three of us were satisfied with the food and service. They close early at pm which is surprising for a highway truck stop. I had the waffles benedict and they were very tasty.
We stopped at this restaurant on the way home from Calaway Park. We were the only customers there, so the service was great. The food was delicious, and the kids' menu had a nice variety of options. It was a good value for the price.
We typically stop here for breakfast when traveling west. The food is consistently good quality and the wait staff is friendly. It's a great place to stop for a meal when on the highway.
