The decor may be a bit dim and spicy, but the food is just as good as barbecue in Coventry. The flame-grilled chicken in a naan was incredible. The lamb chops were a bit tough, but still delicious. The curries were some of the best I've had. Sometimes we even buy a whole roasted chicken in peri peri or chili and make our own roasted vegetables at home. You just can't replicate that flame-grilled taste at home. On top of all that, this place is very affordable, the staff are usually friendly, and they stay open until 2 am on some days!
During a recent visit to England, we stopped in a small university town called Coventry. After Friday prayers, we stumbled upon an Afghan restaurant called Zeenat, conveniently located directly opposite the mosque, offering halal options. We were warmly welcomed by friendly staff and presented with menus and informed about the specials. After careful consideration, we decided to order the mutton achari, chicken tikka, butter naan, and a jug of mango lassi. The mutton achari was absolutely delicious, with tender meat and the perfect balance of spices. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. The chicken tikka was... (the review was cut off)
The mutton achari was absolutely delicious, with tender meat and just the right amount of spice. It was truly heavenly and left us wanting more. The chicken tikka was also flavorful, but it couldn't quite match up to the amazing mutton achari. The dish had a nice blend of flavors and the hint of achar taste was a nice touch. After enjoying our meal, we were treated to the mango Lassi, which was so good that we couldn't get enough of it. It was gone in no time and the taste was exceptional. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tasty drink. The restaurant had a decent ambiance and the food definitely made up for any shortcomings in that area. Overall, I highly recommend giving Zeenat a try for a satisfying dining experience.
I loved that I was with the young in coventry after a filmshoot for the day outside and my friend shaid suggested this excellent place. I had a matte wiper with tandoori roti. it tasted so good and the customer service was also excellent. I'll be here soon to eat again.
Went with family all the way from Birmingham was very disappointing with the cod masala fish it smelled bad. Had the afghani balti which taste or flavour to it. The service was so bad had to wait so long for food to come. Had to...go back couple times to find out what had happened to the nan we had ordered. Only for it to turn up after we finished eating. Also the waiter was not intrested when we had asked where our food was. Definitely will not be going there again. Just a shame can't give it a zero feedback..
