Boy did I want to like this place because its convenient, a refreshing addition to Marlboro Pike, and black owned. 2 stars because the owners are very customer friendly as opposed to the Chinese carryout places that surrounds this place offering the same type of food. 2 stars also for making the food cooked to order. But the smoothie was not sweet at all and just tasted weird, the desserts way overpriced for the amount you get, food way overpriced : . Whiting 2 nice sized pieces nice and hot but bland and kinda fishy tasting , barbecue chicken was good but SALTY, cabbage pretty good I like my cabbage on the crunch side), Mac n cheese just say no smh, greens pretty decent nothing special, corn muffin good, potato salad is a double just say no, boy I wish I had tasted that first, vinegar, vinegar, and more vinegar couple with crunchy potatoes and no seasoning YUCK. Sorry for the bad review but there are a lot of food items to improve upon. Inside of the place is nice small and quaint I really liked the artists paintings. I hope this business stays around and this is just a learning curve.
The Fishouse, complete with just one H. A cool name for a cool little place. We were headed to Maryland for the weekend which is like a 4 hour drive from Pittsburgh. So once we arrived and got checked in, we were ready for some good , quick food. We did our Yelp duty and found the house to get fish. Glad we did! First thing you notice is a small storefront, looks like they do mostly delivery and takeout. There were a few tables to hangout and wait for your food. Taking a look at the menu there were plenty types of seafood to choose from. My girl and I went with the fried catfish and our buddy got the blackened shrimp. If you want to talk about fish fried to perfection, this was it! I got the potato salad and the greens. These greens were on another level. Just the flavors and spices mixed with pork shreds were so delicious. Best greens I've had that weren't made by my grandmother. Unreal. My buddy said he could literally eat that blackened ship all day long and it wouldn't be a problem. Fishouse is Fire! To top it all off, the prices are hard to beat. The fish dinner with 2 side dishes costs $12. Certainly a great price for the quality of food and the taste. And they had this hibiscus tea that was to die for. Fishouse is on my list next time I'm in the DMV!
Great service, greet speed on oder, great tasting food. The red snapper was to die for, and big enough for two. It is black owned. They have custom made smooth and your options are endless.
When they visit maryland, it is a rule (at least for me) that they have to get at least once seafood. a few weeks ago, my friend, ours.
Not my cup of tea. actually, the tee was the only thing I enjoy. I stopped trying out the sides to get everyone down. the mac-n-cheese tastes.
