But we also had their famous fish and chips and they were far from the best . The fish was tasteless and full of oil. For the guesthouse: clean room and common spaces big bathroom common kitchen, washing machine and dryer never had any problem with staff or other guests location right in the center of Dublin. We needed transport only to get out of the city to the outskirts many restaurants and convenience stores in 5 minutes from the hotel smaller room with too many pillows and to little space to put them and your things in. really, REALLY, loud vicinity. The first place I had to use earplugs (provided by hotel) to sleep.
I somehow didn't know about this place until this week, but it's one of the best places to eat I've found in Dublin. I had smoked Coley which was about an inch thick, beautifully smoked and battered. The chips were excellent, perfect really. I couldn't fault the food at all. My partner had chicken strips and the portion was very generous, she couldnt eat it all. I tried not to spy on what other people were having but the lamb shank looked and smelled amazing, I was surprised by this because I thought it would be more like a sit down chippy going in, but there's a good selection of dishes if fish isn't your thing. The waiters were very friendly and accommodating. 2 meals with tea and a dessert each came to something like €46 which is great value imo. If I had to pick fault with it I would have liked a bit more tartare sauce, I got what seemed like less than a teaspoon, I could have asked for more but I was too busy getting stuck into the slab of smoked Coley! We will definitely go back
Very nice waiters and staff and food was very amazing and place looks amazing.
Check the 2 blackboards for the specials. Classic fish and chips arrived quickly, piping hot with just the right amount of tartar sauce. Staff were attentive and friendly. Recommended
Great food, top notch service. The fish and chips were the best we have had. A huge fish laid on our plate. The chowder also was the best we have had. And of course the bread pudding was excellent. Also they do not tap Guinness, a local brand just as good. Go there
