Very cosy and friendly place. Food very tasty and portions generous.
Don't be put off from the outside. I guess this place is the perfect quintessential hidden gem. Four of us went there on a Tuesday night, so we had the restaurant to ourselves. Two fussy eaters, and two who enjoy a challenge. We were all very pleased! The duck confit was the best he had, so the girls also ordered it to share, and devoured every scrap. That was after lovely starters. I had the chicken in tomato-based sauce and boiled potatoes, which I found disappointing. Thin slices of chicken which lacked flavour, and the tomato sauce needed to cook for another hour or so: bland. But that won't deter me: I saw lots of other dishes I want to try. The menu changes regularly, and so we will be back ... soon. We really appreciated the staff meeting our requests, when we only arrived at about 9.15. We had a lovely evening, enjoyed by all. Give it a go, it's reasonably priced, of a high standard, and the atmosphere is what you make of it. Thanks Lavanda.
I had the pleasure of dining here last Saturday evening, Whilst we thought the restaurant was slighty on the small side and had a large party of tourists in our misgivings were soon put to rest when we met our convivial host. The Croatian wine to my simple taste was beautiful and that set the tone for what was to come. The food was superb, every course a winner, the lamb shank was the best I've ever eaten and my fellow diners agreed. Do your mouth a favour and pay a visit, if you dont agree your tastebuds are broken. Cannot wait to return.
Went to Lavanda for my birthday and it exceeded our expectations, tasty authentic food and great service
