The interior has been beautifully restored and modernized over the past decade. Although our afternoon tea was served in the dining room instead of the usual conservatory due to a large gathering, we still enjoyed views of the garden. The cost of the tea with prosecco was around £35 per person, slightly higher than other similar hotels in the area. The sandwiches were decent but typical, lacking variety. The scones were good, but only strawberry jam was available. The selection of cakes was also ordinary, lacking creativity in their presentation. Our waitress was friendly but made some simple mistakes, such as forgetting to bring iced water when requested. It was disappointing to be charged extra for additional sandwiches and cakes, a first in our experience of afternoon tea. Overall, the experience was average and we likely would not return to the hotel.
Myself, my nan, and my friend went along to mulberry house for their drag queen bingo night which was absolutely amazing! The venue was decorated beautifully and the food was lovely, soo worth the money. They catered appropriately and accordingly to my vegan diet and was so helpful. The staff were approachable and friendly, and really got involved within the night! It was such a good night out and was such a laugh, we had the best time with the best music and drinks, it was such a lovely and welcoming environment and experience!!! Well done mulberry house! I hope this is a regular thing!!
Had a lovely afternoon sitting on the garden terrace overlooking the lake enjoying a lovely afternoon tea with my friend. Sandwiches were lovely, so much that we asked for more which was not a problem. The scones and the little cakes were gorgeous. Service was excellent. Weather was superb making sitting outside a treat. We walked around the grounds afterwards and saw black swans, sheep and alpacoes. Definitely going to visit again.
Wonderful lunch Prawn linguine and my daughter had the fish and chips Beautifully presented and tasted amazing Sat outside on terrace Stunning view A shame that you can’t book for outside seating when weddings are taking place weddings take priority Will definitely try to book again Also tried the afternoon tea good value
I ordered take away afternoon tea for Mother’s Day for 3 of us. The food was exceptional. The sandwiches were tasty, well made and really fresh. The scones were some of the best I’ve had and the cakes were lovely. There was plenty for us and at a reasonable price. I will definitely be ordering again and visiting as soon as we can.
