I am shocked, I have never experienced such horrible service and blatant RACISM at a restaurant. I would never recommend this restaurant, if you are a POC (person of colour) please do not go, you will be treated like ****. The food is bare average and the waiter will treat and serve the white people next to you much much better than you, to the point they may actually snap at you for asking why your food is taking so long even though the white table next to you had been served three dishes in the mean time and still get their dessert before yours after two hours. I was here to celebrate my wedding, had a bottle of champagne on my table and still the waiter had to audacity to tell me off for asking politely how much longer it would take. It’s not like I was not willing to spend the money. Shameful, the waiter’s name is Andre, I would suggest you fire him, he does a huge disservice to your wait staff. Terrible experience. Don’t waste your money, there are much better restaurants in Évora and will not rip you off for average food.
The food was very good but it took 2 hours to serve a 3 course meal with virtually no one in the restaurant. Weird scent.
Had dinner in this restaurant a few times and it’s one of my fav in Evora, Stunning tasty menu, the food quality is really great and very tasty, dishes presentation is very well done. Certainly a great chef!
In the vitoria stone hotel to stay in the fascinating Unesco-Heritage city evora, we were so happy to eat at the amendoas. from the moment we arrived (which was a little late) we were greeted by others, the powerful and knowledgeable maitre d, who supported in wine selections and shared the concepts behind the menu: authentic regional products that were brought to the table with innovative presentations and a real culinary flair. erlindo, our friendly waiter, helped us identify Portuguese understood and products. from the inviting alcohol-free lemon cocktail, to a juicy brazilized pork starter, followed by a tasteful chestnut and mushroom risotto, this was one of our favorite food in portugal. if I lived in evora, I would make it a regular culinary experience. but as a visitor it would lure me back to evora, the vitoria stone hotel (that is beautiful) and the amendoas.
