We went here after visiting Cueva Pintada, looking for a quick drink and a light bite to eat. Rookie mistake no. 1 was to let the waitress convince us to take the fresh fish special, and not to look at the menu card for other options. Two plates eventually arrived, mine with a massive entire fried fish almost hanging over the edge with a white eye glaring at me reproachfully. , My wife’s plate had two slightly smaller fish. Both accompanied with boiled potatoes (described as a specialty) and colour-coded sauces (red for the potatoes, green for the fish). We did the best we could though mine was a bit raw in the middle, and my wife reckoned my plate looked like a train wreck after I’d finished. Rookie mistake no. 2 was not to have asked the price before we started. We were 50 euros lighter when we walked away. My wife is still ranting about the experience. I’ve written it off as another “tourists got fleeced through their own naivety” story. What makes it worse is that my wife doesn’t especially like fish.
We stopped for a small bite and coffee. We had efficient service and great tasting sandwiches. Later in the day I would have tried their nice selection of beers. Next time maybe.
We stopped here for tapas. They also offer main meals and have a bar. 5x tapas for 10€ and the children had chicken nuggets with chips. Friendly and efficient service, great tapas in a quiet lane near the church square. Well worth finding.
