From start to finish the staff were very helpful and friendly making suggestions on today's freshly made soups and sandwiches. The place is very relaxed and clean...enjoy your food and take time to chill. As the subject says, it's a hidden gem and well worth the 2 minutes away from the standard fare. Go on...give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
Visited for a quick breakfast, ordered 2 latte which came very quickly. Waited 25 mins after the coffee came for toast and my little boys orange juice. When the toast did come it was warm bread !!!!!! Still soft and white! When I complained something I never ever do. There was no apology or an offer of new warmer coffees. Waited another 15 mins for new toast which seemed such a big deal and tee attitude was awful. We were the only ones there and I've never felt so awkward and unwelcome. I think it was the owner who came in and threw her handbag on the floor never once spoke to her staff. We were there a good 15 mins after she came in. They all looked miserable as sin. Still no conversation between them. When we left no one acknowledged us going or said thank you or good bye. So so angry and will never ever be back.
This restaurant was very near our hotel and was where we got our first lunch after we landed in Glasgow. The service was very good and friendly. There was a good choice of sandwiches which were heated up for us. The choice of drinks is varied including pop and a variety of juices. You can make your own coffee at your table if you choose to eat in. The prices are reasonable and the soup was tasty.
Decided to stop and have coffee and cake at this new cafe' since I was passing by. What a terrible idea. Although the coffee and decor were admittedly quite nice, the staff was extremely cold and unfriendly. As I was looking at the board and deciding what coffee to go for, I couldn't help but noticing the woman stationed at the till was just staring at me with a grumpy and impatient expression. Paying for my coffee and cake was just as painful, with the woman being abrupt and never smiling at me. It really felt like she was annoyed by my presence. To be fair, the other girl with a fringe who brought the cake over to me was smiley !! and chirpy. She also checked on me to see if I was enjoying the cake. Too bad that was not enough to make my visit worth repeating. There are many cafe's in this area and the staff doesn't seem to get that being smiley and polite is key for customers to want to return. Very disappointed and will certainly not return.
We visited here on a Sunda morning, lots of shops are still close. We were just randomly walking and came across this nice looking cafe which serves breakfast. It was a pleasant visit with nice foods. The cake and coffee is awesome. And the woman who serves us is really helpful.
