"My husband and I recently visited this restaurant for the first time on a trip to Halifax. It had been recommended by a friend that lived in the city. Although there were people waiting to get in the restaurant (Wed evening, approximately 7:00pm), there was hardly any wait for a party of two. I had the scallop risotto, which was incredible. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable (recommended wine, paired really well with my dish) If I lived in Halifax, this would definitely be a place I would go on a regular basis. The restaurant is busy however, and a bit noisy, so it's not well suited for a quiet romantic dinner. Hard to have a conversation without raising your voice, or leaning over the table, not sure if the night we went was atypical, but something to consider."

"Tow of us went for my birthday lunch. The food was quite good, but the waiter was a little surly. I asked for no dressing on my main course salad, and he said that wasn't possible as it would run the dish. I agreed to the dressing, which was fine, but I normally don't have dressing. Ever. My friend had pea and tarragon soup which was too salty to eat. She asked for it to be replaced by a salad as it was too salty. There was no apology, or feedback from the kitchen. A green salad arrived, without dressing.I would have thought that if a customer sent something back because they couldn't eat it the staff should acknowledge this is some way other than just shrugging and saying OK.Judging by the other reviews, our experience was bad luck, so I won't rule out coming back. I just hope that another server is on that day."
