However, I was pleased to see a wide variety of cakes available, with most of them being vegan. The carrot cake was particularly delicious and remained moist for several days after I had taken it home in a box. The interior of the restaurant was nicely decorated as well.
There is a wide variety of vegan cakes and beverages available to choose from at this restaurant. Despite not offering lunches during my visit due to a shortage of staff, I was still able to enjoy a fantastic soup with granary bread. Most of their sponges are vegan, and I particularly enjoyed the delicious Victoria sponge. They also serve excellent hot chocolate with vegan cream and marshmallows. Overall, it is a charming cafe with a pleasant atmosphere and is one of the best vegetarian/vegan cafes I have been to.
The restaurant offers a wide selection of cakes and has both indoor and outdoor seating options. We chose to sit outside and enjoyed people-watching while savoring some delicious carrot cake.
I didn't have high expectations when I saw that this was a vegetarian cafe (sometimes the vegan options are uninspiring) but was pleasantly surprised to find that the majority of sweets were vegan. Yay! The salted caramel cake was delicious and there were several to choose from (vanilla sponge, flapjack, chocolate brownie etc). They also have savory pastries too. There are vegetarian but not vegan scones but I do hope they serve them in the future because they're such an iconic British thing to eat. Love me some scones with jam and cream!
