The only thing that from my side that should improve is that the menu was a little to narrow, and the taste menu is only served Sunday.
We have visited Strandingskroen many times before and the menu we had on our last visit was without a doubt the best yet absolutely stunning! The most beautiful oyster dish, brussels sprouts as you never knew they could taste, chicken souffle that melted in the mouth, beef fillet without compare, Danish apple cake re imagined and so much better than the original – all dishes with the usual surprises, unusual ingredients and exceptional presentation and attention to detail. As always, the paired wines complemented the food just perfectly and came in the usual very generous measures! There can be no doubt that Strandingskroen must be one of the very best restaurants in this part of Denmark – having the food served by the chefs and the wine by a true connoisseur makes an enormous difference to the overall impression. They love their craft and are 100% committed to giving their customers the best possible dining experience. Their recent 6 stars in Nordjyske are so very well deserved!
We had been to Strandingskroen 1 time before and when you would think food and wine couldn’t get better the staff just toke it to the next level. Food was served very tasteful, nicely arranged and presented by the chefs. The food was accompanied by and excellent wine selection well presented by the sommelier. All enjoyed in cozy atmosphere next to the open fireplace. Strandingskroen thanks for a great evening we will for sure come back soon.
Strandingskroen has with the new team reached a very level and a place worth driving a long distance stance to visit. The old cozy environment was a perfect setting for an excellent restaurant. The food was excellent based on local raw materials, the wines selected for the wine menu were alle good however the Toscana Vino Rosso was maybe a bit to powerful for the nicely prepared chicken dish. The only negative aspect was a bit sloppy presentation of the wines (one was not even presented) they should work on improving this. However the visit was a perfect experience which can be highly recommended.
Great place for a gourmet dinner for a reasonable price. The service is polite, capable and knowing about food and wine. Make sure you have time to enjoy the food which you can taste that the kitchen has made with a love for food.
