I absolutely love this restaurant! Every time I visit, I feel right at home and warmly welcomed. The food is incredible, and the staff are personable and friendly. There's such a great vibe, and you can always count on meeting new friends, especially during karaoke nights! Danny, Chong, Kelsey, and the chefs are all fantastic! I highly recommend this place!
One standout dish is the Knight Nachos. Ramen, bro? This dish takes me back to my college days when I whipped up meals right before heading out to parties. As a political science major, let me tell you: ramen isn't nachos! Well, not quite. Here, traditional tortilla chips are replaced by uncooked ramen noodles, and the protein is creatively swapped with bulgogi (Korean BBQ beef) instead of the usual cumin-seasoned ground beef. Topped with all the classic nacho fixings, this dish may sound unusual but trust me—it’s worth trying! Just make sure to bring some friends, as it’s more than enough for two very hungry people. Also, don't miss the spicy chicken wings—they're an essential appetizer. I have to know their secret for achieving such perfectly crispy wings; it must be an old Korean recipe! There's also a fresh selection of seasonal seafood, including live octopus flown in from Korea. I could go on, but I encourage you to explore the menu for yourself. While they only offer beer and wine, you’ll find a selection that complements the food perfectly. If you haven’t tried soju or makgeolli (Korean rice wine), this is the place to do it! Soju is slightly sweet and stronger than typical rice wines, offering a unique experience. If you’re dining with a group, don’t miss the watermelon soju served in an actual watermelon. They also have flavored shrubs—sweet fruit-infused soy drinks with options like strawberry basil and pineapple jalapeno, which are definitely worth a try. As for beer, you can enjoy Hite Ice Point, a local Korean crisp lager similar to Bud or Coors, but arguably better. Maybe it just tastes better when paired with free savory Korean pancakes (or Korean pizza?) while K-pop plays in the background. Even the most discerning beer aficionados would be tempted by this foreign brew. Occasionally, they offer familiar local brews too, so you’re not limited to just the imports. Wine is also available on tap. In summary, Gabocha is a fun and authentic place for a casual dinner with friends, a date night, or just a stop for one... or three drinks. The staff exemplifies hospitality, setting a high standard in South Florida and beyond. From the moment you walk in and are greeted with “Annyeong haseyo!” you’ll feel like you’re visiting the Korean family you never had. If you're new to Korean cuisine, the friendly servers will be delighted to guide you through the menu (they’ll even help you prepare your Dosirak, a Korean rice punch served in traditional military-issued containers, which is excellent). Don’t miss out on their special events, like Halloween and New Year’s parties. Make sure to add Gabocha to your dining rotation. You won’t regret it!
The food, the staff, the ambiance everything about gabocha is amazing. After moving back to the states from Korea, I've finally found a place that reminds me of my fondest times in Korea!
