Il Pollo d'Oro is a historic restaurant in Pistoia. The restaurant pizzeria is located in a very lively area and on the outskirts of the city centre. The welcome upon our arrival was excellent: the owner greeted us cordially and seated us without any problem, even though we hadn't booked. We were served by a very kind waitress named Stefania, very polite and smiling. The menu is very varied and I noticed that there are many dishes suitable for a vegetable diet (for example minestrone) as well as meat and fish dishes. We ordered first courses, truly delicious, particular but very delicate. The dessert is also very tasty. Next time we will also try the pizzas. It was a very positive experience on all fronts, so we will definitely be back! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Historic venue in Pistoia which however has changed, with the new management, its traditional environments, to move to a smaller building next to the original location: no more rotisserie counter, no more counter with stools at the entrance, no more underground tavern . All concentrated in a single, fairly anonymous rectangular environment. The traditional Arab bread still resists, invented a few decades ago by Parenti, which is a sort of calzone filled with various ingredients (rice, octopus, ham, etc. , but reproduced only in reduced doses (for 2 -3 people and no longer in its original version (for 4-6 people and also without its usual spiciness: the ingredients still seemed good to me and the result was good. We didn 't try the pizzas, but we quite liked the desserts. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €20–30 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
Excellent service, very attentive waitress and cashier lady Unfortunately I ordered an okato off the menu and it was cold in the center. The rest of the food was excellent. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
It's been years, almost half a century, since I've been back to the Golden Chicken, childhood memories, but even today you can breathe that familiar air that makes you feel at ease. What about the dishes? Simple cuisine without many frills but truly genuine that recalls the best Tuscan tradition. Availability, courtesy, excellent product-price ratio. I hope to come back soon.
