Yum. The small snack and coffee we had here was so good! And what a lovely view. Can't wait to come back.
Delicious gummy shark, and the chips are perfectly crispy, with a soft fluffy interior. The owner is super nice and was happy to chat about the recipes- apparently the chips are coeliac friendly!
The Olde Coxwain's Cottage. The Coxwains Cafe is situated in the Low Head historic precinct, as you pass by the Boat Crew cottages (1859) then the Pilot Station Museum, (Pilots Row) The cafe is in what was the Coxswain's cottage. (1847) The view from the windows are eye catching, as the Tamar River slides past out to Bass Strait, with the chart room (1880) nestled along side. The cafe serves, light meals, lunches, snacks, cakes, coffee's teas. We enjoyed a very nice Pasta of the day; spaghetti bolognaise with a well made LavAzza coffee. The cafe is busy in summer open 9am to 5pm 7 days, winter 10-4pm 5 days. Enquiry can be made at the cafe re accommodation in this area.
A fab little cafe specialising in locally sourced seafood, Tassie wines and icecream. A delicious meal and relaxed experience. Located 5 min drive from York Cove Cottage 1870 on the grounds of the Australia’s oldest operating Pilot Station. Surrounded by history and nautical vista. no time to stop, grab an icecream or coffee .. a Must Visit !!
