The cranberry and walnut salad was delicious, the steak was adequate for a hotel restaurant and the desert monkey banana split was extraordinary. The service...was very good, our server was attentive and friendly. What made the night special was the live entertainment. We had seen the singer, Arsenio, in past years at Angelo 's and Casa 46 and we now followed him to La Palapa and he is better than ever. The songs were a mix of American and Mexican classics. He was very engaging and he took requests from the crowd. My understanding is that he is there Thursday and Sunday nights from 6 to 9.
We stayed at the Torres Resort for 11 nights and each evening we would dine at the La Palapa where we shared an order of Vegetarian Fajitas, which came with flour or corn tortillas, guacamole, refried beans and nachos. It was served in a sizzling...cast iron pan. Even for two persons it was a huge portion and inexpensively priced. Delicious vegetables! Nachos and Salsa were served complimentary which we enjoyed! Since we dined early, the service was very quick and efficient, very friendly staff! The only time we changed our menu was on BBQ theme night when we ordered the Jumbo Shrimp with a thin batter, coleslaw, garlic bread and homemade baked beans. It was an excellent dinner! This restaurant is very well laid out with tables in the open area, or we preferred by the window overlooking the pool which was not as sunny. We could also watch the Iguanas basking on the rock wall by the pool slide. Most evening there was entertainment but usually we ate a bit too early! We would recommend the La Palapa highly and will return on our next stay at the Torres Resort!
Best prime rib ever great service and view on the water ate there several times all meals were excellent
We stayed at the Tores Mazatlan resort for 7 days. We ate at the La Palapa all 7 nights. Everynight we had an oceanside table at sunset. We never had the same entree twice. Everything we had was absoutely excellent. The staff was very attentive,...prices were good, and the atmsophere was the best. Usually we go to different restaurants, but this time we just couldn't see a reason to. Congratulations to chef Miguel!
Tortilla soup..no tortillas was excellent! As a celiac it is hard to fine a good dining spot. This is one! Fajitas were awesome( no Worcestershire on meat) with corn tortillas . Hubby had fish and it was delicious. Service was fast and very friendly. Highly...recommend!
