We were stuffed, but the food was so good we had to have dessert. I?m happy we picked that restaurant over the many restaurants on the street. Do yourself a favor and eat there.
Hostess was a bit on edge it seemed but not to bad. We had a male server who was good at what he did. Food was delicious I had the ribs and catfish. Ribs were a little to saucy for me but oh so tender literally slides off the bone and the catfish was spot on. Had some stuffed mushrooms which was also delicious. My daughter Memphis who was clearly named after the city enjoyed the tenders and my 2 year old son clearly enjoyed the baked beans!! Sweet Tea was good but that wasmy other downfall we didn?t really get around to getting refills.
Went here on a Sunday night. I was seated promptly. The waiter was extremely friendly and the food came out extremely quickly like in under 5 minutes which is the fastest I've ever been served. Overall I was pleasantly pleased and the fish plate was pretty decent.
Very cautious re: COVID 19. Polite helpful staff, Beale street was a bit dead January, Covid, but the food was excellent! The catfish is so good! And I am very picky about my seafood and catfish.
The blues city cafe was recommended to us by a wonderful woman called phyllis in the memphis welcome center and she has not misguided us. we had the ribs and the fried catfish plate. it came with Slav, drilling and hush puppy and it was fantastic! we also ordered jerrys greens that were excellent. a friend who was with us, got the bbq garnelensalat and kesefries that were also fantastic and huge portions. the waitress was funny and brought us a free brownie Ala mode that was from this world. I would highly recommend this place and come back and over.
