A Pignata - MILAZZO

Excellent. The food is wonderfully prepared. The atmosphere is spectacular. You cannot go wrong with this place.

I was staying in Milazzo for work, and had had enough of the extravagant hotel food and wanted something more rustic. Looking on trip advisor I found that A Pignata was close by so decided to give it a try. When I turned up the lights were off and no one was about (7pm is a bit early for Sicily to eat). I was about to leave when an elderly gentleman approached me. Speaking no Italian at all, I asked if the restaurant was open? Too early was the reply, come in . He turned the lights on, I sat down and I was treated to the best calzone I have ever had. The young waitress appeared from nowhere (guess she is a family member) and was warm and friendly, and value for money was excellent. The restaurant itself is very rustic, old farm tools on the walls, animal furs. I was still the only one in there when I left, I hope he didn 't open only for me, but very glad he did. I will be going back!

'A ' Pignata A change a pace where food is the style of Bari. The pizzas are the best in all of Sicily. The Palumbo family will make you feel welcome and treat you as one of the family. Enjoy the company of Vito, Maria, Mina and Michele. You will come back again and again.
