Jacks Surf Turf - Millburn Twp

This place is wonderful!!!! All the workers are so nice and polite.All the food from appetizers to meals are absolutely THE BEST my family and I have had in a quite a while.The calamari is fantastic! We have tried it in many states over the past couple of years and it has never compared to this restaurant.You have to come here!!!! You will be so glad you did!!!

I haven 't been this mad in over 20 years. I booked for a number of us to go to a seafood restaurant , complete with white table clothes, upscale decorations and atmosphere. It looked very nice on the website. After booking at Jack 's Surf and Turf I got an email confirming the reservation at Jack 's Lobster Shack . Thinking I made an error, I cancelled those and remade reservations at Jack 's Surf and Turf .On the website, the Lobster Shack looks like a fast food shack and the Surf and Turf looks like a nice restaurant. I needed a nicer place for the people we were with. When we got there, I found out that our white tablecloth, upscale decorations reservation actually put us in the 'fast food ' looking Lobster Shack . When I questioned this of the waitress seating us, (who was very pleasant) she said that the nicer upstairs venue pictured on the website, the Surf and Turf , only opened for events or if they were exceptionally busy. The menu was the same (food was ok, but not stellar), but it was a bare table, fast food atmosphere. I felt like I was at Wendy 's. I 'll be damned if I 'm going to spend $40 on an entree at Wendy 's. Shame on the owner for misleading patrons. I 'm sure I 'm not the first or last.

Can’t believe this place is not more popular. We stop by whenever I’m in town visiting my sister. Never disappoints!

Did a pick up of a lobster bisque for lunch. The bisque was delicious but I was extremely disappointed that the lobster in it was imitation lobster. What a let down especially since they have all these fresh lobsters in tanks. Charging $2 for extra tiny amount of imitation meat is robbery. Buyer beware. May as well get it with no meat added and it would be better.Thank you for the reply but I have a picture of the lobster I got on the side and it is 100% imitation. The taste and texture was nothing like real lobster. The even sized shreds are a dead giveaway. The bisque was wonderful just letting people know I didn’t care for what you put in it. I hope to come back and try again. Maybe just get the “lobster” on the side next time.
