Great eating and very attentive staff. the seafood basket was very good, like the chicken carving of my partner (although for two meals really.) good choice to boot wine!
This small pub is fantastic! The staff are very welcoming from the moment you walk in. The food was delicious. Make sure you come hungry because we left very satisfied. In fact, we didn't need to eat anything else for the rest of the day. The trip was definitely worth it (we traveled from Warrnambool, approximately 2 1/2 hours away) and while you're there, you can also check out Don Sheilas Museum on Lower Nelson Rd.
I haven't been to this restaurant in a few years and I'm so glad we chose it over the nearby fast food chain. The portions are large and the service is fantastic. The roast carving dish seemed never-ending and was a challenge to finish, but it came with a generous salad and just the right amount of chips. My friend had the seafood basket with prawns, scallops, and a big fish, along with salad and chips. The service was excellent and very friendly. We won't wait so long before our next visit.
We went for a drive from Mount Gambier for lunch after a few recommendations . All I can say is food was fantastic. I've eaten in alot of hi end restaurants and this was up there with them. Everything is fresh, all the sauces are...made in house which in my opinion makes all the difference between a normal average pub meal to the next level which this was. Fantastic meal from a chef who cares about what they are doing. We will certainly be back.
