The Pastry Garden - Poughkeepsie

The presentation of this 50th Bday cake was excellent. The cake taste superb. I highly recommend this place.

Very disappointing for customer service. I emailed them back in the beginning of January asking for a cake to be made the first weekend of May for a special event and I had a specific design in mind so I sent over a few pictures . After a month and a half of not hearing from anybody I ended up just going on the website and filling out a form because the website stated somebody would get back in touch with you within one business week. I filled the form out the beginning of April. It’s now May 8 and I just have to say pastry garden never reached out to me. They completely disregarded my form they never contacted me and they never replied to my email in the beginning of January. I would not rely on this company, especially for something that’s a special event.

Was stunned to discover my Napoleon wasn't fresh!!!!! My daughter from upstate NY is being treated at Sloan Kettering in NYC, I currently live just north of New Haven in Connecticut so the Poughkeepsie area has become a meeting point for use when she has appointments. Today we peeked in The Pastry Garden window just had to go in to treat ourselves because everything looked so amazing. I settled on a napoleon, a treat I haven't had in a while. I considered having a bite before I hit the road to go home but because fresh naploeons can be so deliciously messy I opted to wait until I got home. It was a 2 hr drive home and I was so ready for a bite of pure heaven. I'm not a fan.of the thick icing on top so I was going to scrape it off amazingly the icing came off in one big piece I felt a little deflated thinking that's not typical of a fresh pastry. But when I started to eat it I discovered it was still slightly frozen, like a real icy bite in the center. Not only was it not fresh, the puff pastry was not flaky at all, it just seamed firm stale. The creamy filling had a good taste and the thin layer of raspberry filling in the bottom layer was a pleasant surprise but overall it was still very disappointing due to the quality of the puff pastry from being frozen for who knows how long. We will never again stop in there to treat ourselves, I will say all the desserts look amazing, too bad there's no guarantee what you buy will be fresh. Its a shame for a place that seems a bit upscale to sell such a disappointing product. I haven't had that kind of experience at a real bakery in all my 62 yrs. Shame on them!

I am soooo happy with how my baby shower cake came out! Scooby Doo isn’t a typical theme but Pastry Garden pulled together exactly what I envisioned.

Pastry Garden did an amazing job on short notice. This recreation came out better than the sample pic I provided. The finished product and flavor was delicious. Enjoyed by all.
