Contribuer aux commentairesOn weekends my wife and I spent on Ameland, the Dutch part of the family. Despite North Germans (in this case Northern Dutch horror weather), it was always nice to sniff sea air and hike all day over the beach. Little tip on the way, looking for a good restaurant on Ameland, go to Hollum and to Aunt An.... on Saturday night for exceptionally good! But back to the purpose of this post we returned Sunday and arrived in Rheine in the evening. Fridge empty, stomach too. So go eat. The horror weather we had brought to Rheine, so no desire to drive by bike to one of our favorites. My wife suggested the Ristorante da Mario, right around the corner with us. I wasn't really excited. Since Mario is a typical Italian restaurant with pure pizza and pasta menu. Since Mario opened in his present home about 2 years ago, we arrived shortly afterwards. And this visit was so that I had refused to come back for 2 years while my wife was more often there. She assured me that I would already see a positive development and since my wife had made her decision, I added to my fate. A pizza shouldn't be so bad. The Ristorante is simply furnished. Well-kept red and white tablecloths with little decoration. It may be in simplicity, it is no longer promised to the outside than you want to be. Basic Italian, quite favorable, as the average German of Italian would like. A pilgrim was quickly ordered and the view of the map returned 5 appetizers, about 25 pizzas, about 25 pasta variations and three meat dishes of cattle, pig and poultry, no calf, two fish dishes, no day ticket. Given the 60 main dishes, it is clear that not only fresh ingredients can be processed. I had discovered a disposition with the antipasti of the day, and these immediately awakened my interest visually and odorously. Appetizer has already been set. My wife, too. We chose Pasta as second gear. The antipasti came, I had indicated to leave the plate with Surimi unconsidered, my wife did not want any mushrooms. Both worked. The antipasti offered us to convince. Fennel with sharp peppers, hearty onions, swollen radicchio and grilled peppers and eggplants are well prepared and marinated in clean olive oil. This course was really convincing given the price of 7 EUR. The most important courses have left a silly impression. My homemade spaghetti with olives, capers, tomatoes, anchovies could convince. Well-tuned aromas leave a pleasant impression with the al dente boiled spaghetti, which were called 7,50 EUR were a very good PLV. Less good the Rigatoni of my wife with tomatoes, eggplants and parma cheese. This was quite thin tomato sauce with a few tastefully cut without influence eggplant carving, rubbed over the parma. Delicious of taste, not well prepared and costed. Conclusion: It was better than my first visit, but not really a breakthrough that made Mario take to the class of my favorite restaurants in Rheine! Photos have not taken, but I have taken steps to take photos of the restaurants I appreciate in Rheine, or their accounts here, including the da Mario.
