A lovely place to eat in the heart of roma, a stone's throw from the pantheon and the navona square. the atmosphere is really suggestive, especially in the evening. There is a pergola of edera that makes this little corner of paradise even more fascinating. the bacaro is a historical restaurant of the capital, capable of combining tradition and modernity. the cuisine, in fact, ranges from tradition to culinary innovation, able to satisfy every palate, even the most demanding one, to emphasize also the kindness of the staff and the absolutely reasonable prices. You can't go to the rome!
I went to the pack to have dinner with my friend, and I found myself great! great food, great hospitality not to mention the location where we dined, the true alley of roma! I highly recommend it to all.
We happened upon this gem of a restaurant in the historic part of the city centre. In a small street off the beaten track and tourists. We were greeted by the owner who spoke several languages. Once seated we were attended to by the owner who offered to help select a nice bottle of red based on our menu choices. Our choices did not disappoint. Starters included polpetti and truffle polenta served with a cheese sauce , and the mains braised ox cheek and rabbit stew. All very delicious and filling. Il Bacaro has a lovely atmosphere and seems popular with locals and ex pats alike. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Bella Roma.
Found this spot after looking at restaurants in the area, with it catching our eye. The food was excellent, and amazingly presented. The host/owner knew every wine on the list, suggested some for the table based on what we had. Immaculate care taken to what food pairings go with which drinks and for allergens on the menu. Didn’t feel touristy at all, and was in a beautiful side alley with vines extending up the wall.
