Lovely view, lovely food and lovely atmosphere and helpful staff/owners. I’m a vegetarian and the cook came out to speak to me to make sure I was happy with the choice. Will definitely be eating here again.
First things first. The view of the dining area is mesmerizing so there is that. Second, I ordered the “Gegrilltes rumpsteak” and it is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! The homemade butter she makes is extraordinary and even the fries tastes good. I fed my whole senses in this...place. On the top of that, the host is really nice and was very helpful.
My husband and I stopped for a coffee and had excellent apple and cheesecakes, and a good chat with the owner. We will return in the winter to sample the wood burning stove. Very welcoming.
Used the guest house as a base for exploring the Black Forest area. Owner was very pleasant and helpful, providing us with local information and suggestions for sight-seeing. He also granted us a free upgrade because the venue was quiet during our stay. The rooms...were basic but clean and spacious. The shower was in the main room, while the en-suite had a toilet sink. Free wifi and free parking available. A buffet breakfast was provided but we had no meals at the restaurant as it was closed the two days we were there Monday Tuesday. Alternative restaurants were available in the next village just further down the hill. A guest balcony was ideal for watching the sunset and gazing up at the stars. The scenary was breath-taking; seeing as far as the Austrian border. Nearby forest walks led into the forest and to castle ruins.
