"The first thing to say about this restaurant is that you must really want to come here because there is no way you would drive past and pop in on a whim. After visiting someone in hospital my wife had a hankering for some cous...cous so we decided to come here and take a chance. Not really a chance because I have never seen a restaurant on tripadvisor with such glowing reviews, I was expecting Gordon Ramsey to come out of the kitchen !! From the review title you have no doubt guessed this is not a spur of the moment, walk in venue, apparently you have to order from the menu on facebook to come and eat the following day .... We did not and walked in and were promptly told there were two main courses left so no choice there, but thought hey , let 's give it a go. This is a small family run eatery with the husband at the front of the house and his wife and mother in the kitchen. Our host could not be more affable and went to great lengths to explain the provenance of all the ingredients and spices imported directly from Morocco.... As to the meal, there is no choice of starter but we were offered a beetroot and goat cheese houmous as an amuse bouche, whilst I do not particularily care for beetroots and my wife for goat 's cheese this was a well balanced and tasty debut. The lack of choice is a little worrying though. To the mains, as I mentioned we had the last two dishes, I was served the Beef Tanjia and my wife the lamb Tajine with apricots and almonds, she was definitely the winner. My beef dish was on the face of it generous but bone and fat represented an inedible third, sadly mine woefully lacked any depth of flavour and could at best be described as bland and lacked some vegetables or onions to lift it, I could not taste the confit lemons and spices. To finish there is a desert formula comprising 2 balls out of 8 flavours) of sorbet a small pastry choice of 3) and a glass of oriental tea. This was the high point of the meal and the pastries were as good as any we have ever had the chef has a very light hand ! To sum up when there is no choice of starter, one type of desert you live and die by the quality of the main courses, having finished ours and reflecting on it, were they worth €19 a pop ... I don 't think so. As to the venue it was like a brightly lit canteen and any atmosphere was generated by the bohemian collection of diners. I fully accept I will be labeled a heretic for not gushing with praise for this restaurant, but I just can 't see it, the hosts are charming and I wish them every success and they hardly need my recommendation, but they are by their own admission capable amateurs and not from a restaurant background. With all the constraints of dining here I just cannot understand how this is the most highly rated and number 1 restaurant in Perpignan, or am I the only one who couldn 't see the emperor 's clothes ?????"

"Il est facile de manger en france. parce qu'il se faisait tard, et qu'on avait besoin de perdre quelques calories, on a décidé d'avoir une seule cure de midi ce serait bien. nous sommes venus très près de pm, mais ils se sont assis gracieusement. ma femme a essayé son porc et j'avais des anchois. les deux étaient artistiquement préparés et étaient délicieux. il n'y a rien de beau dans cet endroit, et cela fait partie de son charme. une fête d'anniversaire pour une dame plus âgée à une extrémité de la salle à manger, deux jeunes mères avec deux jeunes enfants bien-être, des touristes allemands et nous avons tous été servis avec courtoisie et en mesure de profiter de notre repas sans grande pompe et circonstance."
