I think the curries were a little watered for the western palate, so I don't enjoy it so much. The portions are small, but they reflect the price so you can't complain. However, as I ordered a non-met dish, I thought the girl would give me a little more, as Veggies cost less than meat bits that they don't. Anyway, seems to be okay and the tables were very clean, no oil smell in the air, fast service and they offer table water. Not sure I'm back.
This restaurant advertises in its window that it is fully licensed, but it has no alcohol in the premises that a few customers disappoint. Instead there was water or a mango juice (very nice but). The tables were set up for two that initially represented problems for people who came as a larger group, but finally tables were joined together. On a window is the Indian Bollywood music, which was first very loud, but the volume came down when I commented. Had no problem with the music, but the volume was too much after a hard day at the millstone. The waiter had a limited English understanding, but was pleasant and worried. In a way there was a feeling of Fawlty Towers about the place, but the food was good without being big. In fact, the rating for my time was closer to good than average, but it was also not very good. The meal I enjoyed was a raw Josh with pure rice and cashmere naan. It took a little while when it came to the table, but it was good food and no pressure to hurry and leave. Only felt that with some work on the basic equipment and keeping the music on a moderate level then it could be a winner. I will try again in the future, but I feel there was room for improvement.
The curry was cheap and very nice. It was also quite spicy, usually give us people white milder curries. Staff was pleasant, dining room is small but nice
My wife, who was a little under the weather, felt to eat Indian and I had passed this place earlier and got a paphlet. We placed our order on the phone 8:30 and told them we will be there at 9 for dinner. When we thought, there were no one in the Restauran, neither customers nor employees. A staff was out on the phone, she came after 2 minutes and we told her we already placed our order without asking us a little further, she went outside and went on with her phone call. Later the cook came out and said he was still cooking while this girl still chats on the phone. There were only these two employees. At 9:30 a.m. a part of our meal came. The windshield wiper had no salt and the lamb was old and very hard to chew. At 9:45, while the girl comes to eat and says that the closing time is close, so I could settle the bill. I told her that my hands are currently dirty and I'll pay when we ate. Until now we have been pissed, so that we simply paid and left them without finishing our meal properly. That was the worst service of this girl. The cook apologised, however, that the food was too late.
Avoid this restaurant at all costs. Their frozen rotis and microwaved Indian/Bangladeshi curries are not worth your money. Even though I'm not the greatest cook, I make better pilau rice at home. The only authentic part of our experience was the shocked reaction to me, a woman, ordering a Jack Daniels and coke. Consider yourself warned.
